HVF use 4”x 4” post instead of 5”x 5” post. We have always been concerned about the size and look of our fences on our customer’s property. We wanted to give our customers homes a visual of (House to Fence) not (Fence to House).

We do use 5” x 5” post on Ranch Railing and other project and fence styles that call from them.

What are our fence section lengths?
The Vinyl Fencing Industry standards lengths of fence per section are 8’foot on center. In general many contactor and fabricators of vinyl fence material utilize this length for their fencing sections. We have seen through time that on the 5 & 6’ in height fences the bottom rail has a tendency to bow down. HVF feels that this weakens the fence and that there is a definite possibility of losing pickets.

In an effort to give our customers a stronger fence line HVF has chosen to adopt a better length of 6’ foot on center. This means that if you have 100 feet of fence using the 8’ section that there would be 13 sections of fence. With the 6’ on center there are 17 sections. Hawaii Vinyl Fencing did this because we want our customer to feel secure that their fence line would be strong enough to hold the test of time.

Can I install my own fence?
Hawaii Vinyl Fencing encourages and assists home owners in installing their own fence. Our product is package like a Lagos kit with a full instruction manual along with our personal guidance should you come against any problem.

Can I get my gate when I pick up my material?
No, not unless you have a gate only and it does not require post to hang from. All of our gates are custom made for each customer needs. We require that the gate post first be set and is secure then we need the RO’s (Ruff Opening Measurement) these are three measurements exact width between the post from at the top and bottom and the final set height of the post. HVF goal is have our gates hang right the first time and last as it was designed to.

We use commercial grate power coated stainless steel hardware for our gate. They come normally in white or black if requested.

What kind of maintenance will my fence require?
We recommend and annual compete washing. This is generally done with PVC detergent and a power washed. It is also recommend using a solution of 1 part bleach to water to remove any mildew or mold that could collect on the corners or gaps. This not normally a part of the maintenance of the fence, it depends on what part of the island your home on. For more information please go to http://www.maximumfence.com under customer care.

PVC is an inert material that does not transmit pollutants into the ground or in the air. PVC is not a fuel source for fire. When considering other fencing material such as wood, or metal and the maintenance of these products you need to be concerned with paint or stain fumes that pollute the air and yourself. Along with pressure treating produces to protect them from weather and insect, this to pollute soil. What about the future demand on the environment to replace broken or worn boards.
